Thank you to all of my JU kids for remembering me on Mother's Day.  My 7yr old made me a wonderful card and wished me Happy Mother's Day all day long.  I also received cards from my Mom, niece, and Mother-in-law and got a call from a family friend. My hubby watched the boys so I could enjoy a couple of hours at the mall on my own.  I went in all the stores that had breakable stuff that I usually pass by when I have my boys with me.  I even got makeup done at Estee Lauder.&...

My 7yr old had his first coach pitch baseball game last night.  They won 10 - 2 !  It was so cute and he had so much fun. We had pizza with the coach after the game and all of the kids played together until 9PM!  I am dragging a bit today.  My 3yr old loved it too but would have preferred to have spent the entire game at the playscape rather than watching big brother play. My kid has a great attitude.....maybe too great.  He really needs to practice hitting since h...

As I stated in another blog of mine, I practice what I dub as Self blacklisting.  I found that there were a couple of blogs that just set me off on a tangent that I didn't enjoy myself being in.  I just felt negative during and after the visit so I decided to not visit anymore. Well, I recently lifted my self imposed ban for one of those blogs and found myself reinforcing why I had blacklisted myself.  I also decided to ban myself from another blog.  I used to find that pa...

I usually dread Mondays so I am trying to point out to myself the good things.  A more recent favorable thing to make Mondays easier is the new stuff that is always posted on JU.  It seems as though most of us get pretty busy over the weekend and JU gets pretty slow.  Come Monday, new stuff galore! Another thing about Monday is the sense of a new start.  Sure, you trashed the house and really screwed up your diet over the weekend.  Put it behind you and start anew on ...

I am hoping to pick your brains. I am attempting to plan a family vacation to South Padre. My hubby has great memories of the place growing up. I have never been there and need some tips on where to stay and what to do. We are into creature comforts so want to stay at a really nice hotel on the beach. I think gulf side is where to be. So far the Sheraton looks pretty nice. Any thoughts? Also, tips on places to eat and fun family things to do would be greatly appreciated. I saw th...

I had a really enjoyable weekend. Saturday I mowed for two hours. Got the entire lawn done with barely a drop of gas left for the mower. I showered and got dressed just in time for the sitter to arrive. My hubby had to work but I picked him up and we met some friends for dinner. We ate at an Irish place and I had something called a Boxty. Ever had one? They are kind of like a burrito made with a potato pancake and it had a strong blue cheese sauce. Dinner was nice (I didn't have to ...

I have seen a lot of advice given lately regarding what to/not to blog about, when to blog about it, blacklisting, etc. The way I see it, it is your web log. Write about whatever you want whenever you want. If you are going to be knowingly offensive, restrict your audience. The only "don't" is don't put another blogger's name in your title unless it is complimentary. You might want to take advice from others if you are worried about points, but otherwise, do your own thing. Your blog ...

I used to think there was really only one outlook on Heaven and Hell. Heaven was the whole Pearly Gates scenario and Hell is the Fire and Brimstone scenario. I have always thought those deinitions were too simplistic to buy. I also fall short of grasping the concept of eternal bliss or eternal torture. I find it hard to think of anything I would want to do forever or anything that I think is bad enough to warrant eternal torture. This leads me to wonder what other people regard as Heav...

My article regarding religion has really gotten me thinking about Heaven and Hell. This lead me to think about things I love (Heavenly) and things I hate (Hellish). Here are some off the top of my head: Heavenly Loving my hubby (in every way. trying to put this gently for those who know us) Hugs & Kisses from my boys Giggling and singing of my boys Smell of rain Chocolate!! Coffee That warm, drowsy feeling you have when you first awake from a good night sleep Warmth of sunsh...

We had a beautiful, windy Spring day so we took the "Monster Truck" kite to the park for a fly. It was pretty dodgy at first, then my hubby got it way up there and it flew nicely for quite some time. The gusts got up around 50miles/hr which made for some spectacular crashes. All the little boys around joined our boys in chasing after the wild kite. It would soar and then crash. They would take turns running to flip the kite back over so it could take off again. They loved our silly t...

My recent article about being told I was going to hell got a comment that ticked me off so much that I figured I would write a blog about it. I was told by Dan that I was being disrespectful of Christians. I refuted that ascertion. Not only do I not make fun of them, I admire them. I admire anyone who feels in their heart that they know the truth about their purpose. I am disappointed in those who can't accept that some people haven't been guided in the same way. Sherye at least admit...

Well, for the most part we had a fun, relaxing time. Three weird coincidences happened: 1)Our next door neighbor ended up at the same hotel 2)I ran into a stylist from my salon and 3) I ran into a long lost friend that I grew up with. #3 was awesome! On our way there, my 7yr old was complaining that the trip was taking a long time. He said "We have been driving a long time and we are still not there." I told my husband that he had obviously inherited his lack of patience. My husband s...

Dear Friends, You won't be hearing from me from Fri afternoon until Sun night or even Mon morning. We have decided to take a mini vacation. My hubby has been totally stressed for months now but trying to plan a trip just added to the stress. We decided to just go to a hotel a couple hours away that has 5 pools, a family center and mini putt-putt. It is in a fun town with lots of good shopping and restaurants. It will be a vacation for me because I will get away from the kitchen and ...

I just love the innocence of youth. I eat it up every day. Our home has a hall that overlooks our living room. My husband likes to throw his socks at our sons as they watch cartoons in the morning. If he misses, I hear "Missed me, missed me, now you gotta kiss me!" And then a lot of running, screaming and smooching sounds fill the air. I love it! There are raucous games of "Tickle Monster", over flowing bubble baths, games of tag, and all sorts of wonderful fun things that we enjoyed...

I have been told at different times over my entire life that I am going to Hell. I wasn't baptized as a baby= going to hell. Don't belong to a church = going to hell. Lived with my fiancee before we got married = going to hell. I personally don't see how any of those things would warrant my being sent to eternal damnation. I am a good person. I treat others as I would have them treat me. My family means the world to me. I am respectful of my parents. I have never harmed another. I...
