I've been enjoying reading the responses I've gotten about whether or not we create out children and it got me thinking. If people believe that God creates babies and gives them to us, do they believe that inductions and planned C-sections are interfering with God's plan? If it's all God's doing, shouldn't it happen naturally? I personally don't know anything more about God or Jesus after having had 3 babies and 2 miscarriages. I know a lot about the science behind feta...
In another blog about questioning God I made the comment that just as I expect my children to question me, I'm sure god expects us to question him. Another blogger "corrected" me by saying that I was wrong because I didn't create my children, God did. So, what do you think on that subject? I think God created my children in the same way my great grandparents did. My husband and I had total control over when we chose to have children. We chose their names, how to raise ...
I think everyone who doesn't consider themselves christian has gotten accused of being antichristian at one time or another. I have gotten accused many times. Ironically the accusers are people with some sort of martyr complex who assume that they will be persecuted for being christian. They take issue with me in anticipation of my taking issue with them. I am not denying that there are plenty of people on the planet who actually are antichristian. I just find it odd w...
I personally see way too many contradictions with the bible to take it literally. I can however understand it being used as a guide of general teachings. If you look at it as a compilation of stories to teach morality, I can see it as a very useful tool. Can you take Jesus as your saviour and not take the bible as the word of God literally. Can you be christian and believe that God sent messages to mankind to be recorded in story form to teach right from wrong? If foll...
I humbly admit that until introduced to the term "Deism" by Myrrander, I had never heard of it. When Myr set forth that I was deist rather than agnostic, I looked into it and indeed he was right. Friends had always referred to me as agnostic so I accepted that term for lack of knowing a more fitting term. I believe there is a God in the sense that there is a creator. I don't believe there is an organized religion out there that has it right where God is concerned. I al...
I used to think there was really only one outlook on Heaven and Hell. Heaven was the whole Pearly Gates scenario and Hell is the Fire and Brimstone scenario. I have always thought those deinitions were too simplistic to buy. I also fall short of grasping the concept of eternal bliss or eternal torture. I find it hard to think of anything I would want to do forever or anything that I think is bad enough to warrant eternal torture. This leads me to wonder what other people regard as Heav...
My recent article about being told I was going to hell got a comment that ticked me off so much that I figured I would write a blog about it. I was told by Dan that I was being disrespectful of Christians. I refuted that ascertion. Not only do I not make fun of them, I admire them. I admire anyone who feels in their heart that they know the truth about their purpose. I am disappointed in those who can't accept that some people haven't been guided in the same way. Sherye at least admit...
I have been told at different times over my entire life that I am going to Hell. I wasn't baptized as a baby= going to hell. Don't belong to a church = going to hell. Lived with my fiancee before we got married = going to hell. I personally don't see how any of those things would warrant my being sent to eternal damnation. I am a good person. I treat others as I would have them treat me. My family means the world to me. I am respectful of my parents. I have never harmed another. I...
