The adventures of Mommy woman

I usually dread Mondays so I am trying to point out to myself the good things.  A more recent favorable thing to make Mondays easier is the new stuff that is always posted on JU.  It seems as though most of us get pretty busy over the weekend and JU gets pretty slow.  Come Monday, new stuff galore!

Another thing about Monday is the sense of a new start.  Sure, you trashed the house and really screwed up your diet over the weekend.  Put it behind you and start anew on Monday.

You can dread starting a new week or you can see at as an opportunity to begin a productive, enjoyable week.  I know I have to struggle to keep positive about Monday morning.  You just don't want the fun weekend to end.  I guess you need to look at it as one more day closer to the next weekend

This week looks pretty busy for me.  The kids have Tae Kwan Doe or baseball every day after school this week.  I started my morning with a walk on the treadmill before anyone else woke up.  Exercise in the morning helps me wake my brain up and get some energy flowing.  After I got my son and husband off to start their week, I started organizing my paperwork for the week to come.  Bills, school stuff, insurance stuff and stuff for the office (mostly payroll related) seems never ending!

Next will be tackling the laundry pile.  I liken it to the tire fire on The Simpsons, always there, never extinguished.  I give it a good fight though.  If everyone has clean underwear for the week after today, I will be happy.

Hope you all have a wonderful week and find good things about your Mondays.

You know, when I clicked on the link to this article, I thought it was going to say just one word.....

....and the word?

NOTHING!

To me, nothing is good about Monday... but you do have good advice there. It's all a matter of how you approach the day.
Coffee helps.

I'm not fond of Mondays.  I always stay up too late and have to get up at 5am.  It also seems to be the night that my daughter doesn't sleep well.  I end up feeling like I had negative sleep.  Then, we have a Monday meeting each week, that ends up giving me a headache because I force my brain to work even though all it wants to do is sleep.

At least the rest of the week is better than that, though, right

Jill~very nice article! I liked what you said about finally getting the laundry (and other less than thrilling tasks) done. I really do intend to do around 3 loads of laundry today, and FINALLY return an overdue library book to its proper home also (it's almost 2 weeks overdue now!).

I mean, I really DO intend to accomplish these tasks today, huh? Seriously. As soon as I can pull myself away from this addictive computer stuff! . Well, at least I made it to Safeway yesterday. So I'm not gonna starve anytime soon now. And lots of Diet Pepsi now! I drink that stuff like most folks drink water. Excellent article! It actually made Monday seem a lot better to me than it normally does, etc. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS!

Diet Pepsi is my favorite drink next to coffee.  I have to force myself to drink water.  Gotta have caffiene!!

I didn't even put a dent in the laundry pile   Once I got done filing stuff and paying bills, it was time to take a shower and throw the load that was in the washer into the drier and a new load into the washer.  I will be lucky to get 3 loads done by the end of the day and I have at least 5 more waiting.  Such is life.

More laundry tomorrow and then......joy of all joys.........toilets to clean!  I have 5 so it really does take a while.  Once I have all 5 bathrooms clean, it is time to start all over again.  At least I never have to wait in line to use a bathroom.  I can't complain.

MP, glad I helped improve your Monday.  Have a great week!

I had a kid who said he was 'sick' home from school today, which kind of shot my whole day.  I did, however, manage to get the rest of the laundry done, folded and put away and some errands run and some bills paid.  Mondays are usually my sanity saver days, but because I had a kid home tomorrow will be my sanity day instead.  I'm planning on swimming, drinking some good coffee, doing a little shopping and generally enjoying the solitude.

I don't know what I'm going to do when school lets out for the summer.  I'll be insane by the time Dave comes home!

hey sis, since your doing laundry anyway, mind if I drop mine off at your house too?
on May 03, 2004

dharma, could you save up a little sanity on my behalf   Sanity, what's that?

Shades, any time.  What's a couple more loads.  Good thing I have extra capacity washer and drier!  I don't iron though.  I avoid it at all cost.

on May 03, 2004

Jill, if we lived closer I'd take your kids for the day and send you off on a 'sanity saver' day.

I don't iron either.  In fact, I just consigned a bunch of clothes that I don't wear because they have to be ironed after they're washed....how lazy is that?

on May 03, 2004

I don't doubt for a second that you would help save my sanity.  You are a great sister

I don't think you are lazy for not wanting to iron.  It is a total pain and as soon as the person gets in the car, you get all wrinkled again anyway........argh!
