I caught a couple of minutes of The View unintentionally today. My toddler got ahold of the clicker and there was Joy Behar spewing her idiocy. I can't believe she gets paid to say the things she says! She was talking about how the rich shouldn't get tax cuts. Whoopi Goldberg was actually trying to talk some sense but was getting shouted over by the brainless redhead. She's supposed to be a comedienne but the only thing funny about her is that she thinks what she ...
I remember watching SNL and they would often spoof the evening news with stories like: "A common household cleaner that might be in your home right now might be killing you!...Find out which one at 11!" Well, our local news had something so similar I laughed out loud. It was something like "Two common brands being recalled from store shelves. Find out which ones and what danger they present at 11!" Come on! If something is common and dangerous, just tell me! Should ...
My days have been creeping by but I have found a bit of entertainment on TLC (The Learning Channel). The shows Baby Story and Bringing Home Baby are my two favorites and their show Surviving Motherhood is pretty good too. It has been a real comfort seeing other women go through similar things I've gone through or have difficulties that I wasn't aware may pose a problem. I watch first time moms and it reminds me of how I thought back then and how I've changed since. The third...
I took my boys along with neighbor friends to see Chicken Little today. I found it very entertaining and funny. Lots of humor that was at different levels. Entertainment Weekly had the movie at the top of their Worst of 2005 list. Why?! It did have a lot of familiar Disney stuff in it. Dead mother, a given for Disney. Father who didn't believe in his son, a la Finding Nemo. But it had very new, exciting, timely stuff too. So I am going to say ~pfff...
Those of you who read my blog (poor souls) know that I had a great amount of anxiety over my son's 2nd grade trip to COSI Toledo last week. Well, things went really well. I saw him onto the bus and his little brother and I followed in our mini-van. I made the right decision to go though. The trip was a free-for-all. No organized assembly at all. We met up, split up, did whatever we felt like until we met for lunch, split up again, did whatever for a couple of mor...
Sir Pete's blog about Monty Python got me thinking about my youth and watching The Flying Circus. I loved the clever way they would end a bit that they really didn't know how to end. Someone would just say something like "Stop that! That's too silly!" and then the old "And now for something completely different." I haven't watched SNL much lately because they seem to have the habit of including skits that just go on and on with no good way of ending. They seem to have ...
We had a beautiful, windy Spring day so we took the "Monster Truck" kite to the park for a fly. It was pretty dodgy at first, then my hubby got it way up there and it flew nicely for quite some time. The gusts got up around 50miles/hr which made for some spectacular crashes. All the little boys around joined our boys in chasing after the wild kite. It would soar and then crash. They would take turns running to flip the kite back over so it could take off again. They loved our silly t...
