Remember when Liberals were all about questioning authority, ant-censorship and free speech?  Now if you question our government you are racist. Events in history are being erased (censored) in the name of political correctness (take the case of ESPN cutting out Curt Schillings game play from broadcast).  The new wave Liberals need safe spaces to protect them from speech they don't like. I guess I'm old but people saying things has never scared me.  Now the thought of n...

I know many of you have heard about the family that just gave birth to Octuplets.  I am interested to hear what people think about this.  Not only do they now have 8 tiny newborns to care for (which is impossible in my mind), they already have 6 (yeah, that's right, 6) children at home! Here are my thoughts.  First off, who has 6 children and then gets IVF for more?!  What kind of doctor implants 8 embryos at a time?!  8 babies in the NICU, how many millions of d...

I was very saddened to hear the news that Tony Snow succumbed to colon cancer.  He was only 53 and one of the best, if not best, White House Press Secretaries ever.  Whether or not you agreed with his politics, he seemed like a truly nice, genuine person. His fate touches me at a personal level too because my longest, dearest friend is battling the same cancer.  Hers wasn't discovered until it had already spread to her liver.  Like Snow, the doctors were able to remove the...

I will never understand why people pay any attention to what actors say when it comes to politics or anything of any importance.  These people play pretend as a profession.  They aren't scholars.  They have no credentials when it comes to foreign policy, religion, politics, etc.  So why should they have any clout on these subjects, because sometimes they pretend to be characters that know such things? Sharone Stone, as some may have heard, made the bone headed comment that...

I recently read a piece online that detailed how a Rachel Ray ad for Dunkin Donuts was taken off the air after Michelle Malkin wrote about the scarf Ray wore in the ad.  Malkin claimed it resembled a "kiffeyeh" which was worn by terrorists in hostage videos.  Malkin also claims that Collin Farrell, Kanye West and Howard Dean have all been seen wearing similar scarves which she labeled "distinctive hate couture". I used to enjoy Malkin's spunk on the O'Reilley Factor.  She left ...

It's official, I now have no respect what so ever for the Nobel Prize.  It was bad enough that they gave one to Jimmy Carter.  Now they've given one to Al Gore for Global Warming....what the hell?! Forget the fact that Global Warming, despite popular belief, is still a theory,  (there has been nothing proven in regards to "Global Warming") all Al Gore has done is use his celebrity as ex vice president to spread the word about this theory.  What about all of these scientist...

I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened sooner judging by the kind of attention people are given in ERs.  This poor woman went to the ER at a California hospital, was writhing on the floor in agony, vomitting blood, and got totally ignored.  Her boyfriend and other people waiting in the ER got so desparate for help they called 911 from the ER.  They were told it was not an emergency and to talk to the people there at the hospital. I bet that hospital is in for some major la...

Dear Rosie, Thank you for freeing me from the time wasting practice of watching The View.  I used to spend some of my late morning watching Meredith spearhead interesting conversations.  Now that you are there, I am no longer compelled to spend my time in front of the TV and instead am free to do things that are more interesting....like scrub my toilets. Your practice of spouting DU talking points, not listening to others and talking over Elizabeth without regard to her very vali...

I just had to write about this one; A Malaysian man, after having his father die and having his phone line then disconnected and settled, received a phone bill for the equivalent of $218 trillion!  How on earth could a phone company seriously send a bill like that to someone?!  It isn't yet apparent if it was just a billing glitch or if the line had been illegaly used.  I'm not sure how one racks up a $218 trillion phone bill though.  Sounds like it would take some talent. ...

I think we are all familiar with Tom Cruise's advice to Brooke Shields regarding post partum depression.  Apparantly scientologists believe that psychiatry is a plot by aliens to control our minds with drugs.  Mr. Cruise has declared himself an expert on the subject.  I personally believe he himself is insane. Well, apparently a counselor of the church and her scientologist son took the advice to heart and treated the son's psychosis with vitamins and exercise rather than seeki...

Happy Groundhog's Day all!  My 3rd grader reminded me today.  I think his class planned to watch to see if Phil saw his shadow.  I'm hoping to find the movie Groundhog's Day on TV tonight.  I think it is a clever movie and Bill Murray was hilarious.  I love the part where he tells the groundhog "Don't drive angry!" This winter has been a breeze so a few more weeks of it won't bother me any.  Hope everyone gets to enjoy a bit of sunshine today.

Richard Hatch, the winner of the first Survivor show, was found guilty of not paying the taxes on his $1million winning and also of evading taxes on money he made hosting a radio show.  He claims that he had made a deal with the producers of Survivor that they would pay the taxes on his winnings provided he win due to the fact that he caught other contestants cheating. Let's see here, you trust a verbal agreement regarding taxes on $1million dollars.  Didn't get that in writing?&nbs...

I just watched a clip of O'Reilly vs Letterman on the Letterman show.  I saw the title of the clip and was all set to laugh at O'Reilly.  Instead, I found myself angry and dissappointed in Letterman. O'Reilly was surprisingly composed given the situation he was in.  Letterman referred to the Bush administration as O'Reilly's friends and O'Reilly pointed out that Letterman has an easier time getting them on his show than Bill does getting them on the Factor (which I have witness...

I have been enjoying the discussions on JU regarding Zero Tolerance.  It seems there is some debate about what the term means even though I have read the policy and seen it in action.  In a nutshell, here are the rules, here are the punishments.  Break rule A even if it is a technicality and you get punishment B.  What if that applied to teachers?  I see them breaking rules all the time.  Sometimes it is even to the extent of endangering their students.  Fo...

I was recently made aware of the new PC movement to call Christmas trees "Holiday" trees.  Oh come on!  You don't have to be christian to call it a Christmas tree!  I personally wouldn't buy a "holiday" tree or "holiday tree ornaments".  Why are Americans bent on trying to change such well established traditions?  I find it interesting that a lot of these people leading this movement are liberal whackos who are always pointing at how much better Europeans do things.&...
