For those of you out there who don't want to be parents ever/ever again, there is a non surgical female option.  I recently talked to my doctor about tubal ligation (getting ones tubes tied) and he told me about Essure.  It is a procedure where tiny coils are placed into the falopian tubes through the vagina and then the tubes scar around them preventing pregnancy. I checked out the website and even though it is a very new procedure, the results sound really great.  A lot of th...

Anyone who has been pregnant more than once knows that every pregnancy is different just as every baby is different.  My first one I gained a lot of weight, had preeclampsia and had a doozy of a delivery.  My next two pregnancies started with feeling ill and ended with miscarriages.  The next one I felt great for the most part and had a very good birth experience. Since things went so well last time, here I am again   This time and I am feeling well again but have a ...

We live in such a wonderful neighborhood.  Every month I have been given new affirmation to why we moved here.  The most recent was a couple of minutes ago.  A neighbor was delivering the neighborhood directory that we ordered and mentioned that a fellow neighbor was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  She asked if I knew the family and I didn't.  When I asked why she said she was asking around to see if neighbors would be willing to cook a meal for the family in the...

Well, I have had 3 B12 shots so far and I do see a difference.  I think my anemia is helped quite a bit.  Anemia can make you feel weak and drained.  About 24-48hrs after a B12 injection I start feeling like myself again. I plan to keep having the shots every other week until I can get my weight and Iron levels under control.

I am a chronic sinus allergy sufferer.  I am pretty used to sinus pressure so I rarely notice it anymore until it is to the point of being a bad infection.  I woke up with a sore throat today and my left ear is aching.  I bet it is those darned sinuses! The weather here in MI recently dropped from upper 80s to mid 60s so we put the heat on yesterday.  I don't know if it is the weather or if there is dust in the furnace but I suspect my sore throat is from sinus drainage.&n...

Has anyone out there had experience with B-12 injections?  My doctor suggested I try it to keep my energy up while losing weight.  I had my first shot on Monday and really can't tell if it helped.  I have had one of the most hectic weeks in a long time so I don't feel "energetic" exactly. I think I will give it another try in a couple of weeks.  If I don't notice a difference in energy, I will stop because I don't believe it taking medication of any kind just for the heck ...

I think having children relocated some bones and organs to less than comfy locations.  I had to be in physical therapy while pregnant with my second child due to pulling a group of muscles while putting my then 3yr old into a car seat.  I have had chronic problems since. Anyone else suffer with this?  I have some exercises that I learned from PT that help but it is always there.  My husband gives me back rubs that can allow me to be free from pain long enough to fall aslee...

A while back I shared my experience with vericose vein surgery.  Now I am battling the vericose vein on the other leg along with all of the beautiful spider veins I have.  These veins are getting the injection treatment. I went in yesterday and the treatment was a little bit like torture.  If you have a problem with blood or needles, I highly recommend you not try this method.  They take a bunch of needles filled with a solution that shuts down the vein by irritating the i...

I feel like hell today. My 3yr old has a bad cold and has been coughing up a storm. I didn't get to sleep until about 1AM then he woke up coughing at 2. He was in bed with us for a little while then wanted me to lay down in his room with him. I was a total zombie at that point. I dozed off and the next thing I knew it was 4:30 and I was all cramped up from twisting myself around his stuffed animals in order to lay on the twin bed with him. I went into my room and passed out. Poor lit...
