The adventures of Mommy woman

I remember hearing the other day one reporter (can't remember who) commenting that Kerry's testimony in the 70s regarding the atrocities committed by soldiers in Vietnam included him speaking with some weird accent he didn't have when they were growing up together and he hasn't had since.  Tonight, I was listening to the TV in the background while Bush and Kerry spoke to crowds wishing Clinton a speedy recovery regarding his heart surgery and heard something I couldn't believe- Kerry uttered the word "ya'll"!

Kerry has been trying to ride both sides of the fence on all the issues and now he is trying to be a good old boy!  He, in my opinion, is nothing genuine.  He is whoever he thinks his audience at the time wants him to be.  It reminds me of the wise words my parents told me when I was in Jr High, they told me that you can either be true to yourself or you can be popular.  You can't be both.

There might be a lot of people who don't like George W Bush but I feel he is a genuine person who is true to his convictions.  There will never be a president you will agree with on every issue.  I might not agree with Bush on every single issue out there but I know where he stands, respect him and I have great confidence in his cabinet.

Kerry is at the point where he has to decide who he really is, where he stands and show it.  I don't really expect that to happen though.

This is not the first time Kerry portrayed himself as a cowboy, you must keep a closer eye on the many faces of Jean luc.

OMG!  Could he look more out of place?!  Who is he kidding?!  He really needs to just be himself.  He is a rich New Englander.  The khakis and button down oxford fit, the cowboy hat couldn't be more out of place.  Bush can say "ya'll" and it fits.  Kerry just comes off as silly and ridiculous.

I'm sure you've all seen the footage of young Kerry, back from Vietnam, supposedly speaking about the bad things he saw other soldiers do. Right? Have you heard his ACCENT? It is total pretentious Bostonian. "In the stiile of GHEN-GIS Khahhn." Do you hear even a TRACE of that accent today? Hardly. And it's not like he's been living somewhere else besides Massachussettes for long enough that the accent faded. He CHANGED it on PURPOSE so he wouldn't sound like an aristocratic prat. It seems a silly point, but think about it- he's willing to even change the sound of his VOICE that he's had for most of his LIFE, just so he will sound good to voters. Can you imagine George W. changing his Texas accent so people wouldn't make fun of him, saying he sounds like a dumb southern hillbilly? Heck no!

Wow.

I was thinking about how similar he is to a high school student the other day. I kind of pity him being the boy in high school trying to fit in with everybody else by imitating what the cool kids are doing.

That's why I prefer Bush too. Sure, Kerry might think he's cool trying to fit in, but Bush being himself is the epitome of cool.

Coolness is certainly the most critical thing to look for in a President.

Bush is himself? What? A moron? A dim wit? A fool that cannot even read a prepared speech? For those I agree! As far as being cool...give me a break! He is a dumb rich guy that had everything handed to him and has failed at running every business he had - including the presidency. We have the largest deficet in history. If he was running a business he would be bankrupt again. What you see is what you get with Bush - that I agree with. Yet I am not voting for a dim wit, average guy who has trouble reading to run the most powerful nation in the world. This guy must get the sympathy votes for sure. His "outstanding" record includes the most polarized nation since the civil war, the largest deficet in history, a net loss of jobs over 4 years (the most since another do nothing domestically president named Hoover), more scandals that have been covered up and stalled than anyone in recent memory (Haliburton, Enron, prisoner abuse scandal, etc.) an arrogant and inept foreign policy that has alienated the world and made us "go it alone" and a domestic policy that is nonexistent. While people might not like Kerry, please just say you are voting for Bush because you hate Democrats and not insult my intelligence and show yours by saying Bush is a "good" president.

A fool that cannot even read a prepared speech?
Did you see his speech at the end of the RNC?  I challenge you to deliver a better speech.  Even the Democratic talking heads gave him extremely high ratings for his speech.

But you sure did a fine job of regurgitating the Democratic talking points.  I really doubt I could insult your intelligence.  By saying I would vote for Bush merely because I hate Democrats (I don't hate anyone especially such a varied group) you have demonstrated there is nothing there to insult.

He must have figured, "Well, the sax thing seemed to work for Clinton, so I'll give the axe a go."

I'm glad we can poke some fun at our candidates without getting all lathered up. Now, come on, you Dems, get with it & start poking some fun at GWB. Let's go... what are you waiting for?

Cheers,
Daiwa

OK, democrats, repeat after me.

Bush is not a stupid man

Bush is not an evil man.

Ok, that's enough for today. While I disagree strongly with many of Bush's policies, it is a political difference and that is all it is. I bear the man no ill will, nor do I think that continually ridiculing him shows proper respect for the office he holds.

See, Jill...he has to parade those pictures when courting the gay vote...he'll have it locked up!

Gid, is that the "Girlie man vote" he is pursuing?   Just kidding!  Please, no liberals getting on here screaming that I hate anyone.  We are poking fun.

Gid, you said some important things.  You can disagree with a persons politics without thinking he is dumb and evil if you have any respect.  I don't think Kerry is evil or anything.  Heck, I would probably enjoy either of them in person.  I just get an itchy scratchy feeling from people who try to pretend they are something they aren't.  I find it condescending.  He isn't fooling me.  He seems to think he is fooling a lot of us though.  Why else would he be putting so much effort into changing his accent and terminology.  "all hat no cattle" and "ya'll", please!

As far as the sax vs axe thing goes, at least Clinton did really play the sax.  Kerry plays guitar and was even in a garage band in his youth.  I have no grudge with that.  He can have fun with that.  He just should have left the cowboy hat behind.
