The adventures of Mommy woman

The time has come where I feel the need to be totally open about who I really am.  It has never really been a true secret but I never used real names before and was cautious about what I blogged about.

The reason I started blogging with an assumed name is because I wanted to see how I did on my own merits.  I didn't want any unearned fans or enemies due to who I am associated with.  Also, it has been kind of fun being Jill.

Most of you here have seen pictures of me and my family whether you knew it or not.  Some of you figured it out long ago but went along with honoring my anonymity.  I thank you for that.

So, my real name is Debbie Wardell.  Yep, I'm Brad's wife.  I'm Alex and Ryan's mom.  Now I can use names instead of saying "my husband" "my 9yr old" or "my 5yr old".

Brad and I will probably both be blogging about similar family subjects coming up.  That is another reason I figured I would "come clean".  I hope this doesn't change anyone's opinion of me (for the worse anyway ).

Well, other than than your dubious choice of a mate it doesn't alter my perception of you at all. You've always seemed quite sensible and down to earth to me.

Thanks MasonM.

Hehehe, after 2 years, it's nice to see it spelled out.

I can't say I was 100% sure, but figured so because Brad always had your back during heavy discussions. Nice.

You'll always be Jill to me.

Wait a minute...Statue of Liberty..that was OUR planet! You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn you! Damn you all to hell!

Haha... nice.

Jill, I actually always thought you were, but it wasn't something I cleverly deciphered, it was just a stupid assumption that happened to be right. I feel a little cheated, since by all rights I should be getting a surprise right now.

The next thing we know we'll find out that you're not really a SAHM but a secret agent like on Scarecrow and Mrs. King.

I was telling my husband about the revelation this morning (ok, I know that's weird, but I thought it was really cool and surprised that I never actual put two and two together, haha), and I explained a little bit about you and then said, "And guess who she actually is?"

He said...

"Julia Roberts?"

Hahahahhahahaa.

"Julia Roberts?"

That wouldn't be nearly as cool.

He's my hero

Sometimes all you need is your gut feeling to be right. Sorry you feel cheated Dan

That's hilarious TW!

I knew.

I knew because I never assumed otherwise.

That's because I read Brad's blog when "JoeUser" was simply his blog (and not a blog site). When JoeUser became a blog site it continued to be, for me, something surrounding Brad's blog for some time. And "JillUser" just seemed to be the wife of "JoeUser" Brad.

I originally assumed you were his wife. Later on, I second guessed myself and decided, "Whoops, I must have been wrong."

When will I learn to stick with my first impressions?

Well, sounds like my little alter ego adventure has taught a lot of people here to trust their instincts

I got a lot of teasing at the office today.  People kept coming up and saying "so you're Brad's wife?!"  We have a silly bunch at Stardock.

I worked for a company like that!  For many years.  I loved it.  I am sorry they did not survive!  I am glad yours is!

We have a great bunch of people at Stardock.  The GalCiv II is putting in major hours right now so whenever I get a chance, I take food in and the boys and I have dinner with everyone.  That way the kids get to see daddy before they have to go to bed.  Everyone is super with our boys too and the boys love talking with them and seeing all the neat stuff that they are working on.

That's awesome. Truly, very, very cool. The kids and I used to do that when Dave was working 16 hours shifts right after 9/11. Instead of bitching about him not being home, we took food to the squadron and ate in the conference room. That way Dave got to eat and the kids got to see their dad.
