The adventures of Mommy woman

For anyone who isn't familiar with Michigan, there is a saying here, "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute."  It is so true!  Thanksgiving day it was 17 degrees and we had plenty of snow on the ground.  Two days later it was up to 62!  Now it is back down to 29 and falling.

I am one who would prefer the snow over rainy gloom any day.  My problem is what the back and forth weather does to my sinuses.  I think any sinus sufferer will agree that they don't like pressure change, dryness or any combination.  I am better off if it just gets cold and stays that way.

A lot of people are sniffling right now but I wonder how many just have whacked out sinuses.  I sure do!  I'll be fine as long as I avoid it going into my ears.  I am 35 and I still get ear infections (lucky me).  When that happens I usually get both ears and sinuses infected and then I am really miserable.

I am a big fan of Tylenol Sinus Daytime.  It is one of the only sinus treatments that doesn't make me either conk out or feel really loopy.  I stopped by the market the other day and they were out so I tried Excedrin Sinus.  If you haven't tried it, let me save you the bother, it sucks!  It is totally useless!

So if you are coming to Michigan any time soon and have sinus problems, stock up on Tylenol Sinus and bring your humidifier.  Better bring both snow and rain gear too   It is beginning to look like Christmas here...today.  Might look like Easter tomorrow.  You just never know.

Michigan isn't too great on arthritis, either.  I wish it would just choose something and stick with it.  I'm fine once winter really sticks, but this back and forth between freezing and temps in the 60's is really...well...sucky.

This year seems a lot worse than the previous few years.  I have a feeling that we are in for a lot of snow this year.

We had a hot, dry Summer so I think you are right. Got my snowblower all ready. Bring it on!

Having grown up in NW Ohio I know the weather you speak of .. What's funny is I used to love it. I loved sledding, and just playing in the snow. But as each year passed I started disliking it more and more. Now I rather have year around weather of 60 to 80 degrees.

Another thing about Michigan (well at least the Detroit area) is the potholes. Only about 2 million of them.

Hi Jill

same thing for weather here in Mn. and I do have sinus issues too! have gone through 5 boxes of tissues this
month alone!

I wish I could take those over the counter products, doctor won't allow, they interfere with the blood pressure and
heart meds. I didn't know that when I first got on the meds and one day took SineAid and almost passed out on
the treadmill at the hosp.

At least it looks like Christmas, right?

Virginia does not get a lot of snow, but the weather is pretty similar. 20 degrees one day, 70 the next.
