The adventures of Mommy woman
M&Ms to Potato Chips

My latest venture to the grocery store with my 4yr old son proved quite a challenge.  Star Wars characters were slapped on every product around which made my son "have to have it".  I looked around and could quickly see that every mom toting a young lad was having the same problem.

I am good at dodging the cereals.  They have had the old character on the front, prize inside thing going long enough that the kids have given up on begging for that.  I wasn't prepared for the Star Wars toaster waffles, potato chips, snacks that turn your tongue Yoda Green or Darth Vader Black, or M&Ms that were in little tubes that had a mystery mix of either Lava (with orange and red) or Wookie (with blues and grey).  I fell for the M&Ms because my kids had a nice little snack and then rolled red and green construction paper and created light sabers with the Mini M&M tube as the base.  Snack and toy in one for 75 cents!

They are so psyched about this movie and I don't even know if they are going to get to see it.  My husband is going to see it first because it sounds like it will be too disturbing for the 8 and under crowd.  I will have to prepare for some seriously bummed little boys if that turns out to be the case.

Aww the Star Wars milieu does have a tremendous pull on boys of all ages. Myself included

@ greywar...

I was going to say, all of those cereals, toys, happy meals etc appeal just as much to us boys in the 20 and older crowd as they do to the 8 and under When it comes to Star Wars, many of us guys are still little kids

[Warning: SPOILER TO ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY]
On a more serious note, the movie will probably be too much for them. Anakin afterall gets horribly disfigured and turned into Vader.... The bad guys win etc... May be too much for little kids

Gey and Zoom, yeah, my hubby is the same way. He still has all of his original action figures and Lego ships. He has talked to the boys a lot about how scary and sad the movie is bound to be so hopefully they are preparing themselves to be denied access.
