The adventures of Mommy woman
My stomach no likey

I thought I would try to give my quest for weight loss a little boost by trying Slimfast bars for breakfast and lunch for a while. I did so the last 3 days and have been having stomach cramps and dizziness. I don't know if this is just a coincidence and maybe my problems are unrelated to Slimfast.

Has anyone out there had problems with this product? More specifically, I have been eating the Peanut butter meal replacement bars. I have been feeling out of energy and crappy since I started eating them. I am going to forgo the bars today and see if that helps. I am bummed because I actually like the taste and can see myself sticking with them as long as they are not the source of my pain.

It's probably because you're eating far less than your body is used to. While it may satisfy the calorie requirements and the daily values stuff doesn't mean it's enough for your body. You can technically satisfy your daily values of everything by taking a multivitamin and eating a few pieces of pizza, but that's not enough actual food to keep you going through an entire day.

You probably have to work your way down to eating that little in a day. Jumping straight from 3 square meals and snacks a day to two food bars and then dinner is not something your body will deal well with.

My only problem is it leaves me hungry and when I am left hungry watch out! Or perhaps you are diabetic? ~shrugs~

Yeah sometimes the body doesn't respond to drastic change well at all :0)

hey jilluser

i've never used slimfast before but i do know that they're very high protein and low carbs. well carbohydrate is the only energy source your brain can use (it can't use fat or protein) so when you cut down on carbs, especially dramatically as you have, it's going to leave you short-tempered and possibly even a little dizzy or light-headed. i'd be adding some fruit or something so your brain has something to feed on.
