The adventures of Mommy woman

Last Christmas we got our oldest son a nice keyboard because he expressed an interest in learning to play.  For whatever reasons (baseball, swim lessons, etc.) we never got going on lessons.  That is changing come 11/11!

I got a flier in our mailbox about a teacher that will come to your house...how perfect!  It turns out our neighbor two doors down takes lessons from her and says she's great.  I contacted her and not only are we set to start my son on lessons, I'm going to take lessons too!  I'm so excited!

I played flute and sax (jazz band) throughout high school.  I took piano for about a year but had no confidence and felt I started way too late compared to everyone else I knew who played.  I loved it though.

I have all but totally forgotten how to read music.  I can still play scales on my flute and can read Treble clef very slowly.  I'm thinking that piano lessons will help it come back and not only will I start playing piano but I can pick my flute back up.  I truly miss it.

After playing music every day for years, I really miss it.  I haven't played since high school.  I can't wait to have that part of me back!

I, too, miss playing the piano.  I took lessons from age 6 to 19, and by the time I was done, I was practicing 2 to 2 1/2 hours a day.

Then I moved out and couldn't play for two years - and now I suck.    I should pick it up again.

Thanks.  I've been waiting for "a good time" but have realized that you just can't wait for things to get easier because they just don't.

I should pick it up again
You really should.

I had my first lesson last night and loved it!  Some of it is coming back.  It is so fun to be making music again even if it is really rough right now.  I bet I'll perform in a recital come next year!

Congrats.  Welcome back to the fold.

(I played for an hour this morning.  It was incredible to be at the keys again.)

As a fellow muscian (who has technical skill but sadly lacks that indefinable talent) I say congrats! I love making music and play several instruments, all of them badly
