The adventures of Mommy woman
Published on October 19, 2004 By JillUser In Politics

During a card playing get together with some neighbor friends this weekend a couple of heated political discussions got going.  One thing that one of the teachers (pro-Kerry thanks to No Child Left Behind) said really irked me and I wanted to hear the insider perspective.  The topic was who the military wants as Commander and Chief.  She said our military wants Kerry and many others said Bush.  She said that polls only show Bush in favor with the military because our soldiers "have" to support the President.

So, my military friends our there in JU land, who do you support?  What do you think of the teacher's statement that you are pressured to say that you support the President?  I am truly curious and suspect that others would be interested too.  I have the utmost respect for our fighting men and women so I promise you that I will not say anything negative in response to any of your comments and will delete the comments of anyone who says anything disparaging toward a comment left by a member of the US military whether I agree or disagree.

Liberals have hated the military since at least the '60's. So I hate libs.

Yes, because there are absolutely NO liberals in the military, right?

'De Oppresso Liber' - Motto of the Green Berets (Army SF)
I guess it can be said to be a Liberal idea, but I think it is more of Liberty idea with a slight leaning toward Libertarian.

As for liberals in the military, yeah a couple of us usually got drunk on a Fri...oh that is right you meant liberal not something about libation.

Pressure? We are extremely well encouraged to vote, however we want. I don't think I've been to any formations with the 1st sgt. ranting conservative propaganda. It's very well recognized in the military that you can vote for whomever you want. And that if we disagree with your politics, we can call you an idiot, whatever your rank...........tactfully...........

However, polls of the military do overwhelmingly show bush to be favored. One of the recent Army Times polls (and trust me, it's definitely an independent newspaper) showed that soldiers in the states favored Bush by 72 percent to Kerry's 17. Deployed soldiers showed even higher for bush, at 74 percent.

I could support Kerry, if I wanted, and I know several in the military that do. It's just that he's a no good, lying, sleazy, not enough personality to be unctuous assclown. And his wife's crazy to boot......whoops, did I say crazy? Anyone with that many millions must be "eccentric", even if she can't bake for shit. Whew......too much rational discussion, needed rant to balance.

I already voted, and it was DEFINITELY NOT for john the weasel kerry. I did vote for a number of Libertarian judge candidates though. My other votes, well you just count 'em next month.

The so-called hatred for the military in the '60s is not forever; besides those kids wanted to save the military from the politicians.
