The adventures of Mommy woman
Published on October 12, 2004 By JillUser In Home & Family

My 4yr old is very cuddly in the morning.  This morning he wanted me to carry him down stairs.  I picked him up and he rested his little head between my neck and shoulder, a perfect fit.  He wrapped his legs around my waist, his little bum just fit in my hands.  What a wonderful feeling to have him all snuggled up.

He likes me to sit with him and watch cartoons until he really wakes up.  Once awake, he is okay with me leaving him for the purpose of getting his breakfast   The rest of the day he is usually good at entertaining himself with his toys (usually resulting in huge messes) but I get the occasional hug around the hips or a "Mommy, I just love you."

It's good to be the mommy.

Awww!  How cute!

Mine are too old for the kind of stuff most of the time, but occasionally my littest dude will make me feel like the best mom in the world by telling me he wouldn't trade me in "for all the tea in China".

*sigh* it makes me wish we could have another one.....

Oh... Mine is five and still has those moments. We read in bed every night. Those are the best. I love my snuggle-bunny. I'm so glad you 've got him. What a gift. Nice article! And thanks for the serenipitous moment of reflection on the truly good stuff.

Some of my first graders are so sweet...I'd just love to be their mommy. I can imagine them having moments like this with their parents.

What a blessing little boys are.

Thanks all for the kind comments.  I snuggle them up every chance I get because they grow so darn fast.  They are already to the point where I can't get away with smooching them as much as I would like.  They both still have those smoochy cheeks so I still try.  I usually get the "eww!" reception followed by the wiping off of my kiss.

Little boys are a mommy's dream.  My husband and I plan to try for a 3rd child after I lose so more weight (in order to avoid complications).  People automatically assume we are going to try for a girl.  Boys are so much fun, I don't know how anyone could think I would be dissappointed with another.  Healthy babies, that is all I will try for.

This is precious, Jill. My four year old is very affectionate and snuggly, too, and he just brings me so much joy. Thanks for sharing this.
