TV Land has this program called High School Reunion where a group of alumni having their 20th high school reunion are brought to a resort in Hawaii and drama ensues.  This show caught my attention because I am about to have my 20th reunion in a few weeks and was interested to see what issues these others my age were having.

First off, these people look old!  The grey hair and wrinkles on most made me think "I don't look that old...do I?!"  I can understand why the guy whose wife had just died looked old but what's the deal with the rest of them?!

I loved how they all had titles like "bully" or "popular girl" or "pipsqueak".  It showed that some people grow up and out of their old ways (like the bully) and some never do (like the drama queen).  In some ways going to a reunion is like meeting new people because you really don't know them and they don't know you after not having contact for 20yrs.

All of the participants were single.  In one case the guy and girl were high school sweethearts who had married and divorced and were in the midst of nastiness brought about by her cheating with his best friend.  She's one who never outgrew her drama queen status.  Then there's the girl who comes out as a lesbian who's become interested in seeing what it's like to date a guy again.  Fun!

I somehow doubt my reunion will be anywhere near as interesting.  I just hope I don't look that old!
