The adventures of Mommy woman

I love the change of seasons here in Michigan but I am done with Winter!  I am so sick of the bitter cold, snow, and all the fun sicknesses that come along with the dry, cold weather.  We need some sunshine and warm air now!

Last week we discovered that our cottage ran out of propane and froze.  Luckily our builders used a new kind of pipe that expands and nothing burst.  Our school was not as lucky over the mid-winter break.  Pipes burst and there was a lot of water damage.  So now the school is asking for more money to replace books that were damaged.  I'm pissed because this school is only 5yrs old!  Why is it having pipes burst when left for a week?

The kids have been passing around a cold.  The baby has had a runny nose on and off all Winter it seems.  Both boys are coughing and phlegmy.

So to get myself through, I'm planning for Easter already.  We have been hosting a neighborhood egg hunt for years now (this will be our 5th annual) and I always look forward to it.  It seems like everyone comes out of hybernation and it is usually the first time in months that we see a lot of our neighbors except when we are all outside shoveling snow.

So here's hoping the groundhog was wrong and Spring will be here sooner than later!

Easter is the shining beacon on the horizon for me too... though only because it's going to be a glorious 4-day weekend and the first real bit of time off since Christmas.  I just wish I could afford a vacation somewhere south for those few days!

I hate winter.  Hate hate hate hate.... The next time I have a serious move, it's going to be SOUTH!

Snow day here today for the kids.  And its still coming down.

Gag.

I shoveled once and will probably have to do it again before the day is done.

It does not take long, does it?

We've actually been quite spoiled the last few winters.  They have been mild for a long time now but this one has been crazy!

I guess I shouldn't be talking about the temperatures down here then.
