The adventures of Mommy woman

Well, today started out like a Summer day.  It was sunny and 80 degrees.  Then the clouds rolled in, it poured rain and got dark and cold.  It is about 60 degrees now.

So I am making chicken frame soup from the leftovers of our roasted chicken dinner.  In case you aren't familiar with this, you take the frame from your chicken or turkey, simmer it with some onion and garlic salt for about 1.5 hrs, take the frame out, strain the broth, salvage as much meat off the bones as possible, put the meat and broth back in the pot, add veggies, noodles and seasonings, and voila, the best soup you will ever taste!

My version has carrots, celery and fresh from Mom's garden tomato.  I haven't met a lot of people from my generation that have made this kind of soup.  I highly recommend it.  It is very easy, cheap and tastes great.  Just the perfect thing to have on a cold day.  Even my kids love it (probably because of the noodles).

Home cooking makes your house smell like home.  Plus, it will serve as fast food for dinner tomorrow.  Mondays are always crazy for us and this Monday will be no exception.  I can just get home, warm up the soup, put some rolls in the oven and I'm set.  Fast yet still homemade.
