The adventures of Mommy woman

Have you seen the crazy produce at the markets these days?  I was recently told about Orange cauliflower so I went to my local market to check it out.  It tastes the same as regular cauliflower but has added beta carotene and is a prettty orange color.  The purple variety has added vitamin C.

My kids, especially my 7yr old, are picky about veggies but love the colored cauliflower.  They also like carrots that still have the greens attached because they look like bugs bunny while eating them (I have strange kids).  The other weird produce they like is Grapples.  They're apples with grape flavor.  It is the weirdest sensation to hold an apple up to your mouth and smell grape!  They have the texture of apple and a taste of combined grape and apple.  Check them out!

One word of caution, cauliflower is a big gas producer for many people so I recommend Beano drops for those with such a tendency.  Happy munching!

The greens on carrots were essential for me growing up for the same reason.  I mean, what kid doesn't love Bugs Bunny?

I guess I am strange too - we did the same thing when I was young.  Bugs Bunny is Cool!

The Easter egg eggplant are so cute and really pretty
I'll have to check those out.  The first time I ever enjoyed a tomato it was an heirloom tomato that my grandma grew...yum!  They were pretty and colorful too.  They say the more color, the more nutrients.

My mom always served canned spinach...yuck!  It wasn't until I was an adult and had a spinach salad that I realized I liked spinach.  I've always liked it cooked in other things though.

Just like Bugs Bunny used to eat.

Its unanimous! We are all strange - and love Bugs Bunny! (Oh, and I love spinach as well - but it never worked on me like it did on Popeye. )

I put some purple cauliflower in the chicken soup I made and it really made it pretty. I don't know how much flavor cauliflower adds but it adds fiber and the purple stuff adds vitamin C.
