The adventures of Mommy woman
Better Than Drugs!

For the second day in a row my baby girl allowed me to get 7hrs of consecutive sleep and this morning the sun is shining and it is over 40 degrees outside!  I feel great!  I feel human again!

Prolonged sleep deprivation can cause your brain to become sluggish.  I was starting to fear alzheimers.  I was walking around in a fog every day.  Thoughts drifted off as quickly as they floated in.

I think 7hrs is the magic amount of sleep for me.  Not too much, and not too little.  Although, I'd like to put the "too much" to the test but haven't had the chance in a couple of years

So, if any of you are noticing that I am writing again and actually making some sense from time to time, chalk it up to sleep and sunshine.

The first time my oldest slept through the night, I awoke scared!  That I had some how missed her crying.  But yes, it is nice to get some solid sleep.  Still, as much as we bemoan the fact, it is a change, and something I do miss a bit.  The 2am feedings.

Ah yes, well obviously enough time has gone by that you don't remember how crappy those 2am feedings can leave you feeling.  There are plenty of things I miss about having a newborn...2am feedings is not one of them.

8 months of sleep deprivation was more than enough.  It got harder to be without sleep the older I got.  That is one of the reasons I'm quite sure 3 is enough.  The main reason though is we want to have enough time with each of our kids and we don't feel we can do that if we have more.
