The adventures of Mommy woman
thinking out loud

As I was cooking this evening I had an idea for a new diet plan. I have to work the kinks out but here is the basic idea:

You can eat anything that takes 2 or more steps to prepare.
Fruits and veggies would be the only exception to the rule.
Of course drink 6-8 glasses of water and exercise as much as you can.
Stay away from the TV.
Distract yourself during your main munchie hours.

Just think, you wouldn't be eating candy, no cans of pop, no fast food. Preparing food takes time and energy. You tend to eat the right things when you have to stop and think about it. Want a snack? Can't have a cookie unless you bake one. Can't have chips. You could have fruit, veggies or popcorn. Want dessert? You have to prepare it. Cake, bake it. Pudding, make it.

You would most likely be eating a lot less preservatives and salt as a result. Interesting, eh?

Actually, munching is good, as long as what you are muching on is healthy. Keeping food in your system stabalizes your blood sugar level and also keeps your metabolism active (which helps to burn calories).

That's an interesting concept, and you'd have to benefit from it due to the fact that you're doing away with all of the preservatives and junk that you find in the already-prepared foods. I have (off and on) been on a Low Carbohydrate diet since January. I've not stuck to it as I should.....I'll do fine for a couple of weeks then I just HAVE to have chips or some chocolate...then a week later I get back on the diet, and repeat the same process..I've lost right at 30 lbs this year. I'm back on it now and I want to lose at least 10 more by the end of the year. THEN I'll work on goals for next year. Jeez, wasn't things easier before we had kids and our metabolism went to hell????
