The adventures of Mommy woman
Published on June 29, 2006 By JillUser In Blogging

I have about 5 weeks left of pregnancy and I already feel maxed out.  The way the baby is situated right now, straight up and down, I feel literally full of baby.  I feel like she has been kicking stuff that's in my stomach back into my throat.

I used to joke with my husband that things that grossed me out "made me throw up a little bit in my mouth".  It's no joke now.  I have to take Tums even when I eat Cheerios!

People keep saying I don't look "that pregnant" meaning 8 months.  I am beginning to think that it is because rather than positioning herself outward, this baby has instead pushed my internal organs up into my lungs and snuggled in with my intestines.  She seems to like to kick box with my ribs and my bladder and kidneys seem to make good punching bags.

On the bright side, I don't notice my lower back pain much anymore   I think it is a natural progression.  Feeling like this for a couple months makes you look forward to childbirth.  How crazy is that?!

Wow, it's really getting close. I know what you mean how you get to the point that you're just ready to get this over with. She'll be here before you know it.

I hope you aren't having too hot of a summer up there. From what I remember being hot and pregnant was the worst. I made my hubby crazy because I cranked the ac and he said you could hang meat in our apartment. I was always sooooo hot.

I had horrible heartburn with my youngest. They say it's because the baby's have a lot of hair. I don't know if that is true or just an old wives tale but he did have a lot of hair.

Hang in there mama.

Can't sit because your bum hurts, can't stand cause your ankles swell, can't lie down becasue you can't breathe. It'll be over soon.
Do you have access to a swimming pool? YMCA perhaps? Maybe you can float that little punkin to a better position. At least you'll be comfortable for a few minutes.

Women are real soldiers! I'm amazed that even though we're so fragile we were made to carry babies and give birth. Arent we just perfect?

You go Mama!

Snuggled up to?  That is a vision that is endearing!

Count the days.  there is really only a handful left.  And congratulations again.

AHA! that was my daughter too! her little heel used to push out against my upper abdomen so often that it left a stretch mark right there!

Hang in there! Pretty soon she'll drop, she hasn't yet right?? then it will be relief for a while!

Happy 4th of July to you too and to your family

Right back at ya!

Hang in there! Pretty soon she'll drop, she hasn't yet right??
She hasn't.  Sometimes she'll to an "alien" and squirm around into a ball a little lower.  I look "really pregnant" when she does that but it usually doesn't last long.  She tends to like to stretch and kick.

Sorry to crack a grin at your misery, but I couldnt help it. The style it was written in invited chuckles of sympathy
That's how it was intended LW.  I laugh at myself all the time.  It's a small price to pay to be a mom but sometimes the hormones and sleep deprivation cause one to lose track of that thought.

And congratulations again
Thanks Dr. Guy!

You go Mama!
Thanks IG!

That's exactly where I'm at!

I hope it's true.  It would be a bummer to go through all this heartburn and end up with a bald baby girl

Sounds like she's gettin' ready to come out and greet the world.
Hope it comes soon for ya.

Bless you Not too soon because I don't want a premie but as soon as she's considered full term would be nice. I told Brad he better take a belly picture soon or we might miss the opportunity. I just can't wait to see what she looks like!! I dream about her all the time (when I actually get enough sleep to dream).

I'm probably boring the crap out of everyone around me by talking about baby stuff all the time but it is kind of on my mind for some reason.
