I love my children dearly and luckily have the ability to laugh most of the time rather than getting cranky and fed up. I have to remind myself that the constant "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" is because they love and need me not because they are purposely trying to make me lose my mind.
Those of you who are fellow SNL fans and have small children probably understood the title right away. Chris Farley had a skit where he had celebrities on, would ask them "Remember when you____?" They would say "Yes" and he would pause and say "That was awesome!" with nothing pertinent to add. Well with my kids, they seem to do the same thing all the time but with regards to things that just happened!
The thing that led me to the Farley comparison was this morning when my 9yr old said "Remember when it was sunny but when we got to Ryan's tee-ball practice it started pouring?.....That was great!" I replied "It wasn't great for his team and...it happened just last night!" To which he blankly said "So?"
I guess I should be thankful since my memory isn't what it used to be and the "what happened yesterday" category is still in my range of recollection. If he asked me stuff like "Remember when I went on that field trip in kindergarten?" I probably wouldn't.
