The adventures of Mommy woman

Getting ready for vacation is a whole lot like work!  First comes nailing down dates, flights and hotels.  Then there's making lists of things you want to make sure to pack.  Of course you have to do some shopping to get some of those things.  There's also the subject of keeping up on the laundry so you have enough clean clothes to pack.

I am now at the point of getting things arranged for the house and about to do the actual packing.  I am always a bit uptight until we get on the plane.  Did I get everything packed that we need?  Is the hotel going to be nice?  Is everyone going to stay healthy?  Stress!!!

We have birthdays and baseball to greet us as soon as we return so I am also trying to get prepared for that.  I'm having the post office hold the mail and a neighbor friend will feed our turtle and check in on the house.  I think we are pretty well set....I hope.

Have a fun trip and don't stress too much. Just figure, worst case, you forget something and you have to go buy it while on vacation. Not the end of the world.

Yay!! Vacation time! Where are you guys going? Don't worry, the vacation itself will hopefully let you unwind and de-stress! Have fun

Once I get on the plane I adopt a "too late to do anything now so might as well kick back and enjoy" attitude. Until then I'll be uptight.

Where are you guys going?

We are going to do some visiting in Dallas and then on to South Padre for some serious relaxing. We are going to visit friends we haven't seen in a long time and a couple that have never seen our boys in person. The Dallas part will be busy but enjoyable and the SPI part should be heavenly depending on the weather.

There will be a serious lack of Wardells around here for a while starting Thursday.

That sounds like fun! I hope you guys have a GREAT time hanging out and being a family after all the crunch of GalCiv2! Enjoy.

Hey Jill...I mailed a pkg to you (Stardock address) last Friday. I'm not sure if it will arrive before you guys leave (3 - 5 days is the norm to the mainland, but MI is pretty far). Just wanted to give you a heads up so you'd be expecting it...I could imagine it could get lost in the shuffle otherwise.

Oh, and enjoy your vacation. I hope it's safe and pleasant.

That is why I just have a travel agent. She does all the dirty work and even ends up saving me more then if I did it on my own because of her connections.

For example.
2 Couples
2 suites in South Beach (one suite each, kitchen, balcony, ocean view, ect) June 30th - July4
2 Redsox games at Miami Saturday and Sunday
Airfare non stop from CT
Rental car the whole time

=560 bucks per person.

Pretty hard to beat that. And all I had to do was give her a quick call. If you haven't tried one, I suggest finding one and staying with them.

I am looking forward to it. GalCiv2 has kept Brad too busy for too long. It will be nice to take him hostage

Hey Jill...I mailed a pkg to you (Stardock address) last Friday.

Thanks so much!! I stopped in today and didn't see anything yet. I am sure it will get put in Brad's office if it comes while we are away. You're so sweet! Hey, how are you feeling these days? I've got cankles! That will look lovely on the beach. They compliment my pale skin highlighted with vericose and spider veins...quite a sight to behold.

Well have a great vacation!

Thanks! It's our last chance before baby time.

I've tried them before and found them more hassle than they're worth since my hubby can be picky about flight times and hotels. Now that you can do everything online, I don't find them much use. Also, I did try to find one to help with a multi-destination trip and they weren't interested in dealing with that type of flight arrangements.

have a good trip, jill. I get edgy before a break as well but agree, at some point there's actually no sense in worrying... what's done is done!
