The adventures of Mommy woman

I don't know about you, but when it comes to Daylight Savings, I much rather "Fall Behind" and gain an hour than Spring Ahead.  This weekend we lose a precious hour.  As if weekends aren't short enough already!

I guess I need to remind myself that it means Spring is here and we will have more sunshine and light later in the day soon.  Our neighbors are already coming out of hybernation.  Our next door neighbor had a baby in November and I saw her for the first time yesterday.

The birds are chirping, turtles are returning to the ponds, ducks are looking for nice landscapes to nest in and the bug hunting season is about to return.  I love the bugs because they keep the boys occupied for hours.  So I guess one hour isn't too much of a sacrifice.  I'll need to be reminded of that on Monday morning though.

Thanks for the reminder, I had totally forgotten.

Actually, I am really looking forward to this spring ahead. Mostly because our littlest has been waking up around 6 am. Our hope is this will reset him to 7.

I can only hope and pray.

Personally, I think it's absurd to arbitrarily say "Ok, now it's an hour earlier/later." This nonsense needs to be put to rest, the time is the time.

Corollary to Bluedev, the only good thing about DST was that my oldest started sleeping through the night that night (well, it was an hour shorter).  That was 23 years ago.

But you are right, at least it is spring!

I hear ya BlueDev. I remember feeling the same way with my little ones. Now we are all late sleepers so it just means there will be a lot of bleary eyed cranks come Monday morning.

I'm not looking forward to loosing an hour too. I love Spring and all, but I dislike having to lose an hour. Although I do look forward to sleeping in an extra hour in October or November, whichever month we do turn the clocks back!

We don't do Daylight Savings here, so things will just rock along as usual. The kids are on Spring Break, and they go back on Monday, so I'm NOT looking forward to getting up early again (ok, ok, but I AM looking forward to not listening to bickering ALL DAY LONG!). Hehe.

Close, but it is next year (I had to look it up myself).

And then Congress did it again -- it extended the 2007 daylight-saving period to eight months, presumably to save another 100,000 theoretical barrels of oil a day.

I am going to get a whole 2 weeks with the kids. Their spring break is the 14th-23rd and then out family vacation to TX is the 27th-5/6. They usually get along really well but Alex is starting to get into the "I'm too old to play with Ryan all the time" age. It breaks Ryan's heart because all he ever wants is to be with his big brother but I can relate to Alex because I was the big sister and went through phases where my little sis bugged the heck out of me.

They usually do great together on vacation though because we stay busy and they find each other much more fun that the alternative, that being us parents
