The adventures of Mommy woman

We are fixing up the bigger of the boys' bedrooms for them to share so we can make the other into the nursery.  They picked out the paint color, fabric for curtains and the bunkbeds!  The bunkbeds arrived today and they are soooo cool!

It is actually a loft bed with an area for a bed underneath.  There are shelves and cubbies on one end and a desk on the other.  The headboard underneath has its own corkboards to display artwork created at the attached desk.  I think Brad had as much fun climbing up to the top bunk as the boys.

It looks like all their stuff will fit in there nicely.  Next step is getting the closet organizer in so it is more usable for two.  Brad also says we need to get  glow-in-the-dark star stickers for the ceiling which is painted a nice pale blue (the walls are a dark blue).  It is a very cool room and they will be spending their first night in it tonight!

Neat, Jill. Do your boys have separate rooms right now? I'll bet they'll like sleeping in the same room together. It's like a slumber party every night. Haha.

My boys have a bunkbed right now (very cool, too...it looks like a military vehicle with a toybox for the front of the truck) that they share. We have two bedrooms for the kids, but we made one into a playroom.

We'll have to reconfigure all that a few months from now.

Your boys' bedroom and bunkbed sounds neat!

They have had separate rooms so far but Ry likes being with Alex so much that every night that isn't a school night he would take his sleeping bag and sleep on the floor next to Alex's bed. They have been sleeping in the same room all this week because we cleared everything out of the other room to paint and scrub the carpet. Like you said, it's been a slumber party every night!

Your boys' bunkbed sounds very cool too!

My Youngest still has a set of bunkbeds, and I spent half my youth on them.  For guys, it is an adventure.

Sounds cool!  Here is a link for stuff for the ceiling:  http://www.thespacestore.com/glowpac.html  The "Glow In The Dark Constellation Creations" would be cool.

My boys always wanted bunkbeds but I was afraid they would break their necks. I guess I'm a worry wart. I do think they are fun though. We haven't had glow in the dark stars for a while but I always liked them. I think I will have to grab some on my next trip to the store. I think I'm going to redo my little one's bedroom with an airplane theme. It was bugs and frogs but he's pretty much destroyed the bedspread.

Thanks! I will have to be cautious because Brad complained that the stars I got for their room at our last house were too big. He asked why I didn't cut them down smaller and I had to explain that they were hard plastic. He says he had glow in the dark stickers and that is what he wants me to look for this time.

Sounds like fun.

When we moved into the last house we were in, my oldest asked if he could choose the colors that we painted his room. He choose Red, White and Blue. So, we painted from the floor to about 1/2 way up the wall white, painted the top half of each wall red and then the ceiling blue. And put the glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling.

My boys have all like sharing rooms. So much so that their little sister gets jealous sometimes. Since she's got to share a room right now, she's in hogs heaven (she's currently 4 and he's 6 - won't be able to keep this up too much longer, though).
