The adventures of Mommy woman

We have had an extremely odd winter here in Michigan this year.  Yesterday it was 55 degrees and we had thunderstorms.  Thunderstorms in February!  Today it is 25 degrees and snowing.  Argh!

I don't know lately weather to give the kids umbrellas or snow pants for school.  It's hard to tell if we need the snowblower or the lawn mower ready to go.  It is intimidating to plan a driving trip since you never know what kind of storm might be coming.

The old Michigander addage "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute" really applies this year!

When I went to bed last night, it was 71 degrees in our house with our corn stove set on its lowest setting.  I woke up at about 2am because I was cold.  It was only 67 in the house.  Went downstairs and cranked up the heat.  Woke up in the morning and it was only 65 in the house.  That wind was *damn* cold and strong last night.

Pretty freaky to have a thunder and lightning storm in February.  I half expected the area to be coated in ice this morning.

Our weather here has been whacky as well. It was over 70 yesterday, but is going to freeze this weekend.

It's crazy here in Texas too. It was 70 yesterday but it's in the 30's today. brrrr. If we ever do get snow it only lasts for a day before it melts off but any snow or ice or sleet pretty much shut the place down. My daffodils are already coming out and I'm afraid they are going to die now. I forgot to cover them up last night.

I grew up in the UP so I understand what you are talking about! I remember saying that about the weather too. i remember going to school bundled up and then wishing I had an extra bag to carry my snivel gear home in after class. But the best? Prom night 1996. Beautiful day, and that night they sent everyone home early because a blizzard hit sooner than expected! We woke up to several feet of snow.

I didn't realize locamama was in TX....glad to see someone nearby. Texas has the same problem just at higher temps.....30 degrees turned into 86 overnight!
